Thomas Goltz   Thomas Goltz is an adjunct professor of Political Science at Montana State University, Bozeman in the U.S. He has had close ties in the Caucasus since the collapse of the Soviet Union in late 1991. He is known for three books often referred to as the Caucasus Trilogy: Azerbaijan Diary (1998), Chechnya Diary (2003), and Georgian Diary (2006). Goltz knows the terrain along the pipeline of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (pronounced Jeyhan) well, having led three expeditions of sidecar motorcycles (2000, 2001 and 2002) the full length of the pipeline (more than 1,000 miles) across Azerbaijan and Georgia to the Mediterranean port in Turkey.
