Japanese Perform Garayev's "Seven Beauties"

Music from Gara Garayev's ballet "The Seven Beauties" made its debut in Japan and took the Silver Award in the 2003 Japan Wind Instrument Music Contest held at the Takefu-Daiiti Junior High School on July 26, 2003.

More than 100 music ensembles competed. Touko Takagi, 34 (pictured) arranged Garayev's music for the Toumyouji Junior High School Band, which won the award. Takagi discovered Garayev's music on Azerbaijan International's Web site - AZER.com - where more than 160 samples of music are available for listening.
