The Red General - Stalin
Statues Dismantled in Azerbaijan
Stalin's statues are
no longer standing today, but photos from Azerbaijan's National
Archives show that they were quite prevalent during his life
time (until 1953). When Khrushchev came to power, he denounced
the "Personality Cult of Stalin" and the statues were
dismantled in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Note the similiar
styles of statues 1, 2 and 6.
