ExxonMobil
Supports Education
Again,
ExxonMobil is following through on their corporate strategy in
Azerbaijan by placing strong emphasis on education, especially
among those who need it the most. Nearly 1,400 first-year students
from the Bilasuvar, Sabirabad and Saatli refugee camps participated
in Knowledge Day celebrations, which were organized by the "SULH"
humanitarian organization and paid for by a grant from Exxon
Azerbaijan. Entertainment included a circus, clowns, magicians
and a children's song competition, and each student received
a school bag full of necessary school materials.
Exxon Azerbaijan has also supported the Red Crescent in two recent
endeavors: first-aid training courses for refugees and a minivan
used to distribute meals to elderly refugees. The van has also
been used to transport refugee children to summer camps and to
distribute seeds and clothing donated by the United Nations High
Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).
